March 1-12 is the twelfth year in a row that the entire State of Maine will celebrate its culinary culture with Maine Restaurant Week. Join Ulfet Ralph our Executive Sous Chef as she shares some of her favorite recipes. Chef Ülfet Ralph will be creating a unique dishes straight from Istanbul. The different cultures blend with the Turkish heritage and created an inspiring cuisine. Our Executive Sous Chef Ulfet Ralph was born and raised in Turkey and combines her grandmother’s cooking with a modern approach of the Turkish cuisine in this 5-course Turkish tasting menu.

Join us for a special cooking class with  Carmen Vargas, a native Venezuelan and grand mother of our innkeeper. Learn about Latin American cuisine and recipes carried in the family for many generation. As a retired farmer Mrs. Vargas understands the importance of farm-to-table cuisine and honest preparations.  All proceeds will be donated to Caritas de Venezuela, promoting human rights, families in need of food and healthcare and assistance to migrants and asylum seekers.

Venezuelan foods, with their tingling spices, exotic flavors and sumptuous meals have become favorites all around the world. Our own Carmen Vargas, a native Venezuelan, will be in the kitchen alongside Executive Chef Chris Long to create this Venezuelan extravaganza. Mrs. Vargas used to be a farmer in Venezuela – the recipes have been in her family for generations (she is the grandmother of our innkeeper Gilbert Pena). The 5-course menu includes Reine Pepiada, shrimp in coconut and a traditional Venezuelan beef dish Lomo Negro. Join us for this 5-course Latin Cuisne Fiesta.
